Special Representative Farah Pandith and her staff (S/SRMC) will be responsible for executing the Administration's efforts to engage with Muslims around the world on a people-to-people and organizational level. "I am pleased to announce the appointment of Farah Pandith to serve as Special Representative to Muslim Communities. Farah brings years of experience to the job, and she will play a leading role in our efforts to engage Muslims around the world," Secretary Clinton said.

Those years of experience, by the by, came in the form of "senior adviser on Muslim engagement in the European and Eurasian region at the State Department." I didn't even know we had a senior adviser on Muslim engagement. Do we have one for Hindus?

Hey, you don't think she was responsible for that time when the State Department engaged Muslims with a "No Jews Allowed" business training program, which they then tried to deny in the dumbest way imaginable. Or that other time when the State Department engaged Muslims via "multiple collaborative efforts" with Islamists? Or that other other time when the State Department engaged Muslims with a TV station that accused Israel of conducting a "Holocaust" against Palestinians?

I'm genuinely asking, because I have no idea what her last position actually was. Although, come to think of it, if her job was to improve the US's global image she doesn't seem to have been particularly good at it (h/t: SP).
