United Nations: Iran's Murder Of Peaceful Protesters Raises "Troubling Questions"

I had a whole "UN condemnation" post prepared under the rubric of the "just kidding" posts that regularly pop up. But then the UN went ahead and unleashed this stemwinder, so I guess mocking them for cowardly inaction would have been premature:
The U.N.'s top human rights official says the arrest of peaceful protesters in Iran raises "troubling questions." U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay says Iranian authorities should ensure due process and fair trials for those detained. She says failure could fan "feelings of injustice." Pillay also says reported attacks by government-linked militia members against opposition protesters could "provoke a serious deterioration in the security situation" in Iran.
In 2008 Israel threw out UN human rights envoy Richard Falk for comparing Jews to Nazis, and even that rose to the level of "dangerous." The UN Human Rights Commission has found time to censure Israel 21 times, the last one being the Cast Lead resolution that left out any mention of Hamas's rocket fire and military use of schools and mosques.
But an escalating internal crackdown that's already claimed dozens of lives - that's merely "troubling."
