Congressional Dems Eager To Prosecute GOP Enemies Past And Future

The Future

Because what's the point of having legislative power if you can't use it to persecute your political enemies? And the Democrats - they've got a lot of political enemies. Past political enemies...

Last month, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she is open to pursuing investigations of abuses by the Bush Justice Department. "I want to see the truth come forth," she said. But in a new interview with Rolling Stone, Pelosi went a step further, saying that she believes some senior Bush officials -- such as Harriet Miers, Josh Bolten, and Karl Rove -- will be prosecuted: "I think so. The American people deserve answers. Where we are now, in terms of prosecution of White House staff, is that we have charged them with contempt of Congress. We're talking about Harriet Miers, Josh Bolten and Karl Rove."

... and future political enemies:

Norm Coleman's vow to pursue legal remedies to the post-Election Night reversal of his win in Minnesota's Senate race apparently has some Democrats desperate... "Even if Norm Coleman pulls off a long-shot legal victory in the extended Minnesota Senate race, Democrats are vowing to make him wish that he hadn't." In fact, that they've begun issuing threats to Coleman that he might face a kangaroo court or two if he dares to show his face in the Senate again... Apart from the donor information, which happened during the recount, all of these are old smears that Al Franken tried launching at Coleman during the campaign.

See? And you were worried about the White House's internal circumvention of representative oversight and external populist permanent campaign. On a scale of 1 to show trials, those two barely break the dial.

I don't know about you, but personally I feel all Hopey and Changy.
