Palestinians Blow The Lid Off Cover Up Of Glorious Hamas Victory

Broadcasting from their bunker below Shifia Hospital during Cast Lead, Hamas leaders constantly talked about their impending glorious victory. Since the IDF decided to withdraw both Assad and Ahmadinejad have congratulated them on said glorious victory. Even Iranian university students - those oh-so-moderate darlings - are pretty psyched about the mass casualties inflicted on the genocidal Jews. The only problem is that Hamas got systematically dismantled. It was a political decision that allowed them to live to fight another day.
Not a problem. The ingenuity of pathological denial is magical:
Since the start of the ground operation, Hamas' fabrications have gone off the charts. One of the organization's spokesmen claimed this week that Hamas had expelled the IDF from the Gaza Strip. The spokesman of the Iz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, admitted to losing only 48 of its men in the fighting. And how many Israeli soldiers were killed? Forty-nine, according to Hamas (in reality, 10 soldiers were killed). Conversations with residents of Ramallah and East Jerusalem indicate that from their point of view, Hamas won. They claim that Hamas withstood Israeli military pressure and that the IDF struck only civilians in the Gaza Strip. Asked why they think Hamas stopped firing rockets, they explain that it was a good-will gesture to Barack Obama on the occasion of his inauguration.
So where did those other Israeli bodies go?
The problem, of course, is how can an open society cover up so many deaths? How could Israel cover up the funerals and the publicity that would come with all those dead soldiers? The Islamic Jihad-oriented Palestine Today figured it out! An intrepid PalToday journalist saw a news story that 13 Israelis have been killed in traffic accidents this month, and many others critically injured. Obviously, these deaths were really soldiers who were killed by the brave mujahadeen, and Israel only pretended that they were killed in traffic accidents in order to boost the morale of their soldiers.
Eventually these geniuses will get around to explaining away the spectacular performance of Israel's Home Command, which kept Israeli life running and Israeli civilian casualties low. I'm giddy with anticipation.
