Of Course: Iranian And Lebanese Journalists Leaking IDF Military Maneuvers (Plus: Calls Growing To Ban Al Jazeera)

Maneuvers

In a normal war they'd be treated as un-uniformed enemy agents subject to summary execution. But since Israel is merely fighting for its citizens to get to live like the citizens of every other country - they're just journalists trying to help the downtrodden people of Gaza:

Police were searching Saturday night for a foreign reporter working for an Iranian TV network who reported the IDF incursion into Gaza before the military authorized the release of the information to the public. Also Saturday evening, a reporter for the Lebanese LBC network who was broadcasting near the Gaza Strip said the IDF was moving from Nahal Oz towards the Nezarim junction. The reporter surmised that the military was planning to sever the Gaza Strip in half, effectively isolating Gaza City in an effort to minimize Hamas terrorists' ability to exploit urban areas. The anchor reportedly stood in a vantage point overlooking the IDF staging grounds and reported military maneuvers.

In other media news, the commentators on Israel Radio 2 can't get over just how brazen Al Jazeera's coverage has been. It's impossible to overestimate the surreal meticulousness with which they're toeing the anti-Israel line. Above and beyond just credulously passing on Hamas propaganda - they're seemingly going out of their way to whip up anti-Israel incitement. Credible calls are now emerging to ban them entirely from Israel:

However, the al-Jazeera network is something else entirely. It is a player that does not adhere to all the media rules, and uses the medium similarly to that knife in the boxing ring - in order to eliminate Israel. This is prominent on normal days, and is even more conspicuous at this time of confrontation between Israel and the Palestinians. The news stories aired by the network constitute blatant incitement with no regard for the truth. Al-Jazeera features no balance, as for every minute of airtime featuring an Israeli spokesperson presenting Israel's positions, the network airs long hours of horrific sights from the Palestinian side, including close-ups of the dead and wounded, and of crying and suffering Palestinians. Meanwhile, reports of attacks on Israel are normally covered briefly and in a sterile manner, with no proportion to the descriptions of what is happening in Gaza. In addition, clips aired between programs constitute genuine incitement, while interviews and discussions aired at this time are completely one-sided and anti-Israel.

From an organization that threw a celebration for a genocidal child murderer? Hard to credit.

UPDATE: Inexcusably, I forgot to give Lynn-B a tip of the hat for that Al Jazeera link.
