What better way to be a force for stability in the region than to try to spark an international incident:

Iran's Red Crescent announced on Wednesday that it is sending a relief ship to the Gaza Strip, in the face of an Israeli blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory. "We are sending a consignment of 1,000 tons on a ship to Gaza the beginning of next week," Red Crescent secretary general Ahmad Moussavi was quoted as saying on the organization's website. "There is the possibility of our ship being blocked just as the Libyan ship was blocked," he added referring to a vessel intercepted by Israel a month ago... Israel said that because Libya does not recognize it, the interception was justified on grounds of national security.

The Iranian VP just said that the annihilation of Israel should be a global cause. Iranian students are marching in the streets protesting the Saudi Initiative because it merely destroys Israel demographically. The mullahs have been paying anti-Israel activists and Hamas operatives to raise the stakes of the Gaza crisis. And Rafsanjani - the former radical President magically turned moderate politician according to our foreign policy betters - just said that Hamas will "burn" Israel.

So I'm thinking that the Israelis will be reluctant to let an uninspected Iranian ship offload its cargo in Gaza. But who knows. We are after all in the era of Hope.
