Like I said on Thursday I'm hopelessly behind on my Watchers posts. The results for last week's nominations are already out. I wanted to put up a formal nomination post anyway, if only to outline last week's trends and let you know where you can find followup posts on them.

Many of last week's posts dealt with the armed invasion of Mumbai - where Muslim terrorists concluded that the best way to establish a global caliphate is through sustained mass slaughter - and its implications for domestic security. Cheat Seeking Missiles insisted that the media needs to stop calling the Chabad House victims "hostages" since the terrorists' only goal was to torture and murder as many Jews as possible.

On the domestic front JoshuaPundit argued that the US government's refusal to name our enemy - driven and protected by the multiculturalist suffocation of debate - has allowed political Islam to reach our shores. Rhymes with Right provides a helpful reminder that however much that's true - and it is - President Bush's stewardship has prevented Mumbai-style jihadism in American cities. Right Truth made a similar point with more force:

Now, here’s where political correctness comes into play. We cannot fight the war on terrorism by singling out Arabs or other Muslims. We must consciously give “equal consideration” to that old lady in the wheelchair during airport screenings. We must conclude that openly hostile and questionably patriotic Dearborn, Michigan does not engage in terrorist recruitment or support. We must always address the “Palestinian Question” whenever we seek reasons why some people are quite prepared to blow themselves up in order to kill us. And, the grand finale, we cannot undertake diplomacy without somehow laying the blame for world destruction squarely upon the Israelis. Do you detect a trend here?

Bien pensant multiculturalism is also preventing us from properly criticizing the insanity of Black Friday stampedes according to The Razor. And speaking of blaming the Israelis, Soccer Dad ran down the various global institutions who apparently think that the Jewish State has Jewish cooties. My own post outlined how lifelong diplomats are insisting that new peace talks will be a recipe for disaster because of Palestinian instability.

Top-down government intervention into the economy will be a disaster according to The Provocateur and The Glittering Eye. Top-down government intervention has already been a disaster in education according to The Colossus of Rhodey. So I for one am enthusiastically looking forward to sweeping Democratic intervention.
