Hamas Hooks Up Smuggling Tunnels To Israeli-Supplied Electricity Grid (Plus: Hamas Online Courses Teach Math, Genocidal Terrorism)

Lost

You know the Gaza electricity grid that Israel maintains and supplies despite Hamas's best efforts to shut it down? Figures:

Gaza's smugglers are going legit: Owners of the scores of tunnels running under the Gaza-Egypt border have registered with the Hamas authorities, pledged to pay workers' compensation and hooked up their operations to the electricity network. The once clandestine business has come out into the open. In one place, dozens of large tents, each marking a tunnel work site, were pitched just yards from an Egyptian watchtower beyond the border wall... [the tunnels] are seen as vital for keeping the Islamic militant Hamas in power. "The tunnels have become the main source of commodities in Gaza, and every day the closure continues, the importance of the tunnels increases as well," said Gaza economist Omar Shaaban.

First of all: there are economists in Gaza, which is just how it was in Auschwitz right? More to the point: combine this with Hamas's new online terror course and you kind of have to admit that they've gone from being a ragtag bunch of genocidal lunatics to being a well-organized cadre of genocidal lunatics:

The Islamist Hamas terrorist organization has initiated an online course in explosives, military weapons and tactics for would-be jihad fighters. Aimed at the population of the Palestinian Authority... the sophisticated course includes highly detailed practical and theoretical lessons, as well as sample videos of jihadist attacks. All manner of weapons are... explained by masked Hamas instructors... Each instructive section concludes with test questions. For example, a fatigues-wearing Hamas teacher asks, "A truck is moving at a rate of 15 meters per second, at a distance of 200 meters, from left to right. How will you succeed in hitting this truck?"

I once joked about Islamic textbook math quizzes: "Ruth is an Jewess whose life is worth 6 dinars. Yassin is a Muslim male. Calculate how much Yassin's life is worth and how many beautiful and virtuous maidens Yassin gets if he becomes a martyr by blowing up Ruth and her kids on a Haifa bus." That was much more amusing when it was not, you know, real.
