US Public Diplomacy - Winning Arab Hearts And Minds By Promising To Sell Out Israel

Priorities

Don't blame Micaela Bluhm either for this comment or for her history of similar comments. Her job is to convince pathological anti-Semites that the US is on their side. How else do you expect her to do it:

Today she is the US Consul for Public and Media Affairs. Fluent in Arabic, Bluhm consistently surprises Palestinians who speak to her in English... Bluhm "tried to listen more than to speak," and that she gave her audience the freedom to ask "whatever they wanted." Bluhm concluded the interview by summarizing the US attitude on a number of issues. As the cultural representative to Palestine, Bluhm said she tries "each year, especially during Ramadan, to increase cultural activities and correct ugly rumors about the US bias toward Israel." Nasser said Bluhm "knows full well" that Palestinians have few "good feelings toward American authority figures."

It's true. Palestinians really hate Bush. I mean, they really, really hate Bush. No matter how much money and military equipment he throws at them, they can't get over his stubborn refusal not to honor dead terrorists. Short of becoming Jimmy Carter, I'm not sure what he - or Bluhm - can do about it.

Hey - that's actually kind of an interesting question: if nothing short of selling out Israel will satisfying the Arab and Muslim world, then how exactly is Obama going to make the Arab and Muslim world like us? Maybe Obama shill Mel Levine has the answer. I'd suggest checking with Obama shill Robert Wexler, but he's beginning to sound a lot like a shameless liar who shamelessly lies to defend Obama's foreign policy. And that doesn't sound like a very post-partisan thing to do, now does it?

Sigh. At least our newest public diplomacy envoy isn't Fran Drescher.
