Peace Just Around The Corner As Olmert And Abbas "Fast-Track" Final Status Talks

People have been debating whether Olmert thinks that new elections will come in November or in March. Looks like it's November:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas emerged from an intensive four-hour meeting yesterday and announced their intention to fast-track negotiations over a final status agreement. The two made the announcement despite both side claiming that the other had violated the road map peace plan. During the meeting, Olmert and Abbas were briefed by Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and chief Palestinian negotiator Ahmed Qureia on progress in the talks. The two leaders then met alone for more than an hour. Both agreed that despite continued terror attacks and construction in West Bank settlements, an agreement should be reached by the end of 2008.
This peace deal is going to be so awesome that Israel will have to remove every last Jew from the new Palestinian state lest they be murdered by the peaceful Palestinian peace mobs celebrating peace:
The concept of removing all Jews from a certain region is surely repugnant to any person not prepared to deny somebody's rights on the grounds of his ethnic or religious origin. It brings back the worst memories of the tragedy that befell the Jewish people in World War II. When it is applied to a part of the Land of Israel it is also contrary to the very foundations of Zionism, a movement based on the right of Jews to settle and live in their land, a right that has received international recognition. And yet, not only the Olmert government's ministers, but many Israeli citizens who insist they are confirmed Zionists, and of course those who claim no such affiliation, all of liberal views, subscribe to this concept. Presumably this is because they consider this view to be part and parcel of making peace with the Palestinians. What kind of a peace can this be when nobody Jewish will be allowed to live within the borders of Israel's neighboring state?
Annapolis II is apparently set for May. Egypt and Jordan will of course be in attendance - the better to pile their demands on top of whatever concessions the Palestinians are demanding. And that's not ever the best part. Click through and read the last two paragraphs. Super.
