Palestinians Going Global With Program To Demonize Israel For Deliberate, Hamas-Engineered Gaza Humanitarian Crisis (Updated: WaPo Hops On Board)
Hamas weakens and starves the Palestinians in Gaza by banning Israeli food aid because they don't want to help Israeli farmers. They intentionally don't request medical aid so they can demonize Israel when supplies run short. When Israel has tried to provide what little has been allowed and requested, Hamas has closed the crossing. Meanwhile they've shut down medical clinics across Gaza when the doctors were insufficiently supportive of Hamas's Islamism. And when Gazans have tried to escape this hellhole and get medical care in Israel, Hamas has gone so far as to stop Red Cross ambulances with roadblocks to prevent the transfers.
Hamas already knows that they can count on the UN and the AP (and the UN and the AP) and Reuters and the Red Cross to blame Israel for their intentionally-manufactured humanitarian disaster. Now their demonization efforts are set to go global:
A new, fashionable way to blame Israel for, well, everything is sweeping throughout the PalArab media and it is only a matter of time before the Western blame-Israel crowd jumps on the bandwagon. According to PalArab Gaza sources, we are now up to 20 people who have died in the past few weeks from not being allowed to travel to Israel to get medical treatment. The rate of these deaths has skyrocketed in the past few weeks though, beforehand you would only read about one every couple of weeks or so.Apparently, the PalArabs have latched onto these deaths as a great propaganda weapon against Israel. So now, all deaths in Gaza for any reason, no matter how far-fetched, is being blamed on Israel... this man, Abdul Kader Salih Abu Amer, decided two days ago to go back using an illegal weapons smugging tunnel from Egypt to Gaza. He made it, but the trip was so strenuous that he died this morning. So, if you need a scorecard: Amer went to Egypt to get medical treatment, couldn't come back because of the Hamas takeover , went through an illegal tunnel by his own choice, and died in Gaza.
He had to sneak back into Gaza through a tunnel, incidentally, because Hamas has refused Israeli offers to reopen monitored crossings between Gaza and Egypt and reunite families. If nothing else, Hamas should be complimented on their determination to demonize Israel. Apparently not even the mass death and misery of their own people are too high a price to pay.
UPDATE: Soccer Dad David Gerstman emails with this Washington Post story. The Palestinians are having trouble with their sewage system. This is either because they keep cannibalizing their infrastructure to get raw materials for Qassam rockets or because Israelis are really, really evil. Guess which one the WaPo chooses.
