We just don't understand this mad rush to give the Palestinians a state right now. We have a lot of concerns that come from a more conservative perspective, but in this case it's just kind of stepping back and saying really?

U.S. President George W. Bush said Wednesday that it was important for Rice to help Israelis and Palestinians make progress leading into the upcoming conference. "We believe that now is the time to push ahead with a meeting at which the Israelis and Palestinians will lay out a vision of what a state could look like," Bush said t a White House news conference.

Ignore the not uncompelling evidence that Fatah aren't the good guys. They could be literal saints and the point would still be worth making that they've has proven themselves to be total utter failures at everything they've tried. The US facilitated democratic elections so Fatah could prove they have a mandate for peace? They lost to radical Islamists who won't even give lip service to the peace process. The US gave Fatah arms and weapons to secure the Gaza Strip for a future state? They got overrun by a semi-trained terrorist thugs controlled out of Tehran. They can't maintain civil services. They can't maintain law and order. The only time anything works in the West Bank is when Israel steps in to help. Forget being evil. These people are just really bad at life.

Anyway, it's not like you have to work hard to get a "vision" of a future Palestinian state. Between Hamas declaring that Gaza is going to become an Islamic state and Abbas trying to get street cred by imposing sharia in the West Bank, we kind of have a pretty decent idea.
