Peres: Streisand Should Sing At 60th Independence Anniversary [Video]
We don't think that our generation will ever be able to understand what it is that you people have with Barbara Streisand. But there's definitely something there:
President Shimon Peres, who is a personal friend and great fan of celebrated singer Barbra Streisand, hopes to persuade her to come to Israel for the country's 60th anniversary celebrations in May 2008... Peres said that he had heard many cantors, but none who could sing 'Avinu Malkeinu' like Streisand. Peres said that he would like to bring her to Israel within the framework of one of the keynote 60th anniversary events, an international conference with the participation of "United States representatives of the highest level" along with some 3,000 to 4,000 invited guests from abroad.
There's some more information behind the link about the three-day conference that's being planned, but it'll change five or six times before next year so it's probably not worth your time. To be honest, the only reason we're blogging this is so we can post this - our most positively rated contribution to YouTube - again:
Maybe we kind of see it. But, still, not really.
