The canonical problem with online polling is that highly motivated self-selected respondents screw up randomization. But in this DKos poll you have motivated people on both sides - the ones interested in supporting Ahmadinejad and the ones interested in demonstrating that their side isn't made up of batshit crazy lunatics. Alas:

It's still not a reliable poll obviously, but it does give a sense of where people's sympathies lie. And, incidentally, the people in the comments section of that poll who are proud of themselves for "choosing neither" - they're as execrable as the ones voting for Ahmadinejad. At least the ones explicitly supporting the genocidal lunatic are honest about the consequence of their choice.

It appears to us that Democratic Jews have three choices:

(1) Deny that Democratic politicians are owned by the far left - this was already a difficult task and it's become impossible since the oh-so-centrist Hillary Clinton was forced by the left to vote against supporting Gen. Patreaus.

(2) Claim that their support for the Democratic party will retake the party from the lunatics - yeah? How's a century of slavish loyalty to the Democratic Party been going?

(3) Conclude that they don't care that they're empowering people who would elect a modern-day Hitler, who advocates the murder of six million Jews, over President Bush, who has openly called for the genocide of no Jews (in fact, he has not called for the genocide of anybody at all).

We kind of think that they'll take the fourth choice: ignore everything and tell each other how sophisticated and brave they are for voting Democratic in the midst of Dick Cheney's long night of tyranny.
