This scandal has been brewing for about a week, and One Jerusalem held a huge conference call earlier this week (which we missed because we're retarded). It's not going to go away until Olmert says "you know what, letting the Wakf destroy priceless Jewish artifacts is probably a bad idea." The one thing that's been nagging us is "how bad can it really be if there are police officers on site to make sure nothing goes too wrong?" Except now it turns out that the police officers on the ground - literally watching the destruction - are trying to stop the digging:

The Olmert administration is overriding archaeologists to set up the utopian era of peace that he, Abbas, and the State Department will usher in after the November conference.
