We talked a little bit about how even Abbas thinks that Carter's comments were too anti-Israel. For the record, Bibi immediately brings up the exact same point. Then he elaborates:

Those Carter comments are just surreal. Heaven forbid that Israel would seek to punish Palestinians for electing a government dedicated to wiping out Israel. Seriously, how unreasonable is that? In Carter's world, Israelis should have said: "you want to kill us, sure, but that's not going to deter us from helping you... umm... kill us". We have to wonder why Carter doesn't expect the same thing from the Palestinians. Why isn't it their burden to take "risks for peace" like - and we're just spitballing here - not firing rockets at Israeli schools and hospitals for a couple weeks? Just as a "goodwill gesture," ya know?

He needs to stop beating this "disengagement was a disaster" drum. Otherwise every time we link to him we're going to have to link to all of our posts explaining why it was a good idea. And constantly alienating 95percent of MR's readers doesn't really seem like a good idea.
