Like violent tantrum-throwing children, the Palestinians know that Israel will never really let them suffer the consequences of their own actions. No matter how much food Hamas throws on the ground from their high-chair, Israel will eventually sigh heavily and wipe it up. Even though everyone knows that Hamas will eventually go back to murdering Israelis:

Because honestly, why should the Palestinians have to suffer in any way for decades of nursing the most vicious kind of radical extremism - and then electing terrorists running on a platform of genocide? That would be downright churlish. Forget the small fact that Hamas is promising to go back to attacking Israel as soon as they get on their feet:

Hamas: "Close the borders now and we'll try to attack you now. Spare us from the consequences of our own actions and we'll attack you later." In international humanitarianism parlance, this is known as "legitimate Palestinian aspirations".
