Multiculturalist feminists, of course, still spend most of their time decrying vague notions such as hegemonic Western discourse rather than real-life honor killings. Richard Landes just posted an extended post about this scandal of cowardice, including commentary and links for even more extended articles and reports. One begins to get the feeling that it's like trying to get hold of a fog. The arguments for "what's really going on" are so tangled up in convoluted assumptions and incoherent history that just getting to a place where people agree on what reality is becomes functionally impossible. Upshot for Western feminists: they still get to feel brave for standing up to all those nasty "discursive regimes".
