Suspiciously Inconsistent British Boycott Of the Day - Journalists Who Accuse Israel Of Endangering Reporters
You know how British journalists voted to boycott Israel because Israel endangered and interfered with journalists and press vehicles? Isn't that really ironic?
(1) The Palestinians have now forced Israel to interfere with press vehicles by stopping them at checkpoints, restricting their access, etc - precisely what the British journalists scream about.
(2) The Palestinians endangered individual journalists by causing Israel to treat media vehicles with suspicion, risking miscalculation - we doubt that Israeli soldiers will err on the side of caution next time a press vehicle approaches a check-point a little too fast.
(3) The Palestinians directly violated all sorts of international human rights norms by injecting journalism into the center of the conflict.
(4) The Palestinians kill puppies.
And yet the Palestinians have received no censure from international journalism organizations. Certainly, they can be quite confident that they will never face a boycott threat. We're sure there's a subtle distinction that explains why British journalists choose to focus on Israel, even though the Palestinians do far worse than Israel and cause most of the unpopular Israeli actions. A subtle distinction like "the Israelis are Jews", or some such thing.
