Which means that their salaries were paid by international aid and Israeli largess - and that their families still receive benefits from the same sources. And they want more:
The fact that they have been on the payroll of the PA was disclosed after their families protested against the low pension that the PA has decided to allocate them... The PA has also been paying salaries to thousands of Fatah gunmen belonging to the faction's armed wing, the Aksa Martyrs Brigades.
Something to think about when you hear how the State Department is pushing Congress - or, for that matter, Israel - to give money to Fatah. Which they do seemingly every other week.
