We're torn about posting this, because we think it flirts very close with race baiting. It's the kind of thing that - through video and sound - is so over the top that it shuts down thought and replaces it with inchoate, often misdirected anger. It's bloody red meat, but is dangerous because of it.

That said, the justifications and rationalizations being given for the desecration of the flag by these lunatic radicals makes it worth posting. Get past the act and listen to what they tell themselves and how they try to persuade others:

Now of course, they're lying to themselves. The thrill that they get out of stepping on the American flag has little to do with American foreign policy and everything to do with their anti-American, anti-Western religious ideology. Like rabid anti-Israel advocates who pretend that they have rational reasons for hating the Jewish state, these don't hate America because they believe tales of American atrocities in Latin America - they believe tales of American atrocities in Latin America because they hate America. But the ease with which these accusations fly - and the fanaticism with which they're believed - should give pause to anyone who thinks that changing American policy will change how these lunatics think about America.
