Breaking: US Rolling Up AQ In Iraq and Afghanistan?
We were going to wait until tomorrow morning to start blogging again (and thank you all for being so patient while we worked some stuff out), but Hot Air has been following a couple of stories this weekend that you might want to know about. Yesterday Allahpundit gave a rundown of recent raids on AQ strongholds in Afghanistan, including the possibility of one or two big fish. Those raids have been going on for a couple of weeks apparently.
Then this afternoon he posted on reports coming out that the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq has been captured:
Meanwhile, on the Shiite side, US troops have taken control of Sadr City without firing a shot. This isn't so much good news as inevitable news: with Sadr having ordered his people to lie low and wait out the surge, of course there was no resistance. They want to make sure they're around to take over after domestic pressure forces the US to withdraw from Iraq.
