This evening, we received the following email regarding our pictures of the 2005 UC Irvine anti-anti-terrorism rally. Apparently one of the brave moral exhibitionists who stood in solidarity with terrorists is upset about our caption (he's the fifth picture down). Our less than generous email response is below his email:

We've redacted several not very eloquent (and, frankly, not very funny) lines of "now look at this... now look at that". Because honestly, he's already coming off as an idiot - there's no reason for him to be humiliated as a bad writer as well. The point with the "Arafat tote bag" was obviously that (a) he was a pro-terrorism rally and (b) carrying a tote bag. But our correspondent's density regarding enthymematic nuance is not really our concern. Our response:

For now, we're withholding his name. We kind of suspect that he's an attention seeking troll, and we don't want to provide him any satisfaction beyond providing ya'll with some amusement. For the future, we obviously reserve the right to procrastinate on papers by mocking him and his hopelessly pretentious Marxist-Foucauldian Google footprint. "Politically engaged" but argumentatively stunted English majors - they're our favorite.
