* 1pm EST, NASA is going to announce something big about the Mars mission. That's 10am PST, and we're thinking of wandering over to a sports bar with a really nice plasma TV and demanding that they put it on. Like they have anything better to show at that hour. For the rest of you suckers who have jobs, there's a web stream available through their site.

* New York has banned local restaurants from serving foods with trans fats. Lovers of stereotypes everywhere rejoice. Joking aside - this is pathetically stupid. But not entirely without reasons for mirth.
