Blog Roundup - Syrian Attacks
In the course of a news story's blog half-life, there comes a time when people who know what the hell they're talking about weigh in. Enjoy:
* Citizen Smash says not Al Qaeda because of no simultaneous attacks and total incompetence on the part of the attackers. Which is more or less what we said, except we were guessing and he explains military operations with phrases like "breach and blow operation" and "vehicle-borne explosive device". This, children, is what we in the business refer to as a "distinction".
* Ace of Spaces has the conspiracy theory we missed when we were scribbling out possible theories. Afterwards we kind of thought about this one, but couldn't seem to make it work with all the eyewitness accounts of dead people. He's got a way around it.
* Q and O with a fourth theory that's even more plausible than (a) Rove did it [nutroots, who we still don't think you people are taking seriously enough] (b) diversion that went awry [our desperate attempt to explain the massive incompetence on display] (c) trick to boost Syria's requests for engagement [Ace].
* As the well-known aphorism goes, no matter how many people agree it's not conventional wisdom till CT Blog says it's conventional wisdom. And since David Schenker is suggesting things that no one's suggested yet, we're now in an aporia. It's almost like he's studied this kind of stuff. Cf. "bloggers, distinctions between"
