Mainstreaming of Anti-Semitism (Comedy Festival Edition)
Ed Lasky at The American Thinker on mainstreaming anti-Semitism:
Disturbing evidence accumulates that overt expressions of Jew-hatred are becoming normal and accepted in not only the Muslim world, but in Europe, Latin America, and elsewhere. The latest example comes from Scotland, where the Edinburgh Fringe Festival has featured “comedians” spewing vile hatred – and receiving audience approval.
It probably has nothing to do with the mainstreaming of anti-Zionism seen in the form of academic boycotts on scholars and national boycotts on Israeli flights. Except it has everything to do with that. It's just really convenient to scapegoat Jews, and it has been for more than a few centuries now. To prevent people from slipping into that, you have to be extra-vigilant in erring on the side of caution - as opposed to letting college students march with signs branding hooked-nosed Jews as babykillers and then accusing people who criticize them of "trying to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel".
