Breaking: Israel Is Not a Target of Terrorism (Except It Is Now. Maybe)
So now that Al Qaeda has announced that they're really going to start coming after Israel, does that mean that the Jewish State will start being recognized by big-name journalists as a target for terror? Because the New York Times 9/11 editorial on global victims of terrorism didn't even mention Israel.
To be honest, we kind of think that this is a cry for attention. Usually, it's the Los Angeles Times that pro-Israel bloggers really go after for being less honest than Al Jazeera. So it's understandable if the NYT wants some links too (because of that whole TimesSelect misstep, if nothing else). But frankly, if the New York Times wants to play in the Majors, they're going to have to try a little harder. Just omitting Israel is something we expect from the SF Chronicle. If the NYT really wants to get noticed, they'd better get Frank Rich writing columns about how the reason that Israel is not being listed in terrorism roundups is because all those suicide bombings are "Palestinian acts of resistance" (or at least hire Laura King). Otherwise, they can keep playing the second-rate AAA ball that we've come to expect of their anti-Israel news frames.
