UN Thugs, Dictators, and Tyrants Condemns Human Rights Atrocities and Lack of Democracy in Israel
What is it that drives the collected nations of the world into their obsessive annual ritual of condemnation and faux outrage against Israel:
Over U.S. and Israeli objections, the UN General Assembly in an annual ritual approved six resolutions criticizing Israeli policies and calling for stepped-up international effort to revitalize the Middle East peace process. The 191-member world body ended a three-day Mideast debate Thursday with lopsided votes demanding a speedy resumption of negotiations leading to a final settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, denouncing Israel's "illegal settlement activities" and construction of a wall around East Jerusalem, and demanding Israel's withdrawal from the Golan Heights.
Israel is a country that enforces equal rights for men and women, that outlaws discrimination based on sexual preference, that is a robust democracy, and that has just this year unilaterally ceded land to its sworn enemies so that they can have a state. And it's being condemned for human rights abuses by countries where women aren't allowed out of the house, where homosexuals are savagely murdered, where dictators have ruled for decades, and by some of the very people that it just gave land to. There's something pathological in this charade - some abiding hatred of some sort - if only we could figure out what it is.
