Re that Palestinian ceasefire, we assume that Hamas is refusing to disarm so that they can have a lot of weapons around that they're not going to use. In fairness to them, they are promising only to aim their weapons at Jews, and only until "the occupation" ends. And by "the occupation," they mean the one where Jewish children "occupy" schools and homes between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
You know, maybe that's too mean. Maybe Hamas isn't committed to waging genocidal war against Jews, and they're holding on to their weapons to fight fellow Arabs with. In which case, they're not really serious about the ceasefire. But that would mean that they're lying about... this is so confusing.
