Not This Trick Again
As Israel continues its counter-offensive against terrorists, the Palestinians are demanding that Israel take it easy on them:
As the West Bank and Gaza endured their sixth straight day of Israeli attacks, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas warned yesterday that Israel's aggression was jeopardising any chance of peace. Even as he spoke, Israeli troops combed the Balata Refugee Camp in Nablus on the West Bank, where they reported killing two members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade in a shootout.
The offensive was in response to the firing by Palestinian militants of about 40 rockets at Israeli towns from the Gaza Strip last weekend. "This escalation is putting the entire peace process in real jeopardy," Mr Abbas said. "We call on Israel to stop these acts, especially since all factions have committed themselves to the ceasefire and to ban all military parades and public displays of weapons."
We would have thought that the 40 rockets were putting the entire peace process in real jeopardy, but that's not the point of this post. The point of this post is to roll our eyes about the tired Palestinian trick of attacking Israel - then frantically promising never to do it again and blaming all future violence on Israeli retaliation - all while crying to the international community for protection. Those Palestinian terrorists sure are brave.
