Now That's What We're Talking About
Condi Rice might be the very paradigm of State Department anti-Israeli policy, but President Bush is still one of the good guys:
The Palestinians have the onus of moving forward on the road map, US President George Bush said on Tuesday. In a conversation with reporters in Idaho, where Bush is vacationing, the President made it clear that the Palestinians must take the next step towards peace, by reforming their government and their security forces.
The Secretary of State: "It cannot be Gaza only".
The President of the United States: "Until the Palestinians make some reforms, it's gotta be Gaza only".
And we're left wondering why the Secretary of State gets to flatly contradict the President.
