I Wonder How That Happened
This isn't grade school, and you don't get credit for pretending to try and failing. But after decades and decades of the international community patting the Palestinians on the head and telling them that it was OK to throw murderous temper tantrums, it's unsurprising that Abbas would feel confused about not being allowed into the living room while the adults plan disengagement:
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Friday on the eve of talks with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that the Palestinians were ready to coordinate the Gaza pullout with Israel but were being left in the dark on crucial issues.
That's because the Palestinian Authority - if it is not itself a terrorist organization - leaks like a sieve to Hamas and Islamic Jihad. It's also because in the real world you have to earn people's respect and trust, and Abbas's pathetic weakness has done neither.
