International Law is Super

Speaking of the overwhelming success that binding UN resolutions have, how about a new war:

IAF warplanes and helicopter gun ships struck at at least five Hizbullah positions in south Lebanon Wednesday evening in response to mortar bombardments on IDF outposts in the Mount Dov region... The international community, headed by the UN, has rejected Hizbullah's claim, saying that Israel had complied fully with Security Council resolution 425 when it pulled out of Lebanon In May 2000.

International law rewards those who break it - which makes it definitionally the opposite of what a legal regime is supposed to do.

UPDATE: Ha'aretz is reporting that an Israeli soldier died in the attack.
