Don't Do Us Any Favors
AP wants its readers to know that Israeli actions are upsetting the emotionally fragile "militants" in the West Bank, but that the warm-hearted Palestinians are only threatening to call off their ceasefire. Apparently, Abbas is still managing to hold it all together, and the ceasefire will hold. Terrorists Militants haven't broken the ceasefire yet - they're only threatening to - the word "threat" is used both in the headline and in the blurb right beneath it, and the words "ceasefire" and "truce" appear four times before you get out of the lede:
Palestinian Militants Step Up Threat to Call Off Cease-Fire but Will Observe Truce
The Palestinian Authority renewed its committment (sic) to the cease-fire with Israel on Monday, despite fresh threats from Islamic militants to withdraw from the 4-month-old truce because of recent fighting with Israeli troops.
Given the apparently shaky but still very much "committed to" ceasefire, you probably wouldn't guess that Palestinians have yet to, you know, cease firing at Israelis all the time:
Palestinian gunmen fired at an Israeli vehicle near the settlement of Ganim in northern Samaria Sunday evening. No one was wounded in the shooting attack, but the car sustained damages, Israel Radio reported.
Sometimes even snark is an inadequate response to the MSM's sheer mendacity when it comes to Israel coverage.
