Israel and Eisenhower
Joseph Alexander Norland over at IsraPundit is doing an extended historical analysis of US-Israeli relations during the Eisenhower administration. Joe is right of where I'd like people to be, but he's among the most reasoned, smartest, and most civil opponents of disengagement that I've had the pleasure of debating. His reasoning in this historical analysis - that the US will sell out Israel's security to advance its own foreign policy goals when Israel fails to make a moral case for that security - is important to bear in mind. Baker's shameful behavior during Bush I is an extension of precisely the State Department mindset that dominated the Eisenhower administration. You should read the whole thing. And the four subsequent articles he'll be posting.
