Palestinian Terrorists Recruiting More Children
I was going to spin this JPost peice...
Since the outbreak of "Al Aksa intifada" three and a half years ago there has been a growing trend in the use of Palestinian children aged 11 to 17 who are recruited by terrorist organizations to perpetrate attacks in Israel.
In addition, terrorist organizations often use children's toys and backpacks to hide bombs they plan to smuggle to activists elsewhere to be used in attacks.
... into a international human rights organizations are hypocritical post. But that's a tired angle.
Then I was going to spin it as a compare and contrast piece - what Israeli kids mean to Palestinians and what they mean to Israelis (also check out this one and this one). But writing about how human beings intentionally murder toddlers isn't the kind of subject you can just throw away a couple of lines about. The temptation to overplay either hopeless depression or incoherent rage and make the post a rambling jumble is pretty significant, and even if you avoid that it's still almost impossible to adequately convey an appropriate sense of horror.
So then I thought about comparing what Palestinian kids mean to Israelis and what they mean to Palestinians. Same problem as above, except this time you've also got the problem of conveying the mind-boggling evil it takes to not only target the other side's innocent children, but also to cynically use your own children as human weapons.
So no spin. Besides, this is the kind of thing that spins itself. Read the whole thing.
