Think That This Will Be How It's Framed?
Another horrible car bombing happened about 30 minutes ago in Basra. CNN.com has the alert up saying 4 deaths (no link yet), and CNN cable (reading what I assume to be the AP release) just reported that a fifth death has been confirmed.
However, at the very end of the report, there was a throwaway line that neither anchors seemed to ascribe much significance to. Apparently, the owner of the car was seen walking away from the car a couple minutes before it blew up, and crowds caught him. What did they do? They turned him in. Think about that for a second - a society saturated for decades by violence, a society increasingly infiltrated by theocratic monsters with little if any respect for life - that society caught a murdering collaborator and immediately subjected him to the rule of law. Lets compare that to what happens elsewhere in the Arab world.
UPDATE: FOXNews.com has the AP release.
ANOTHER UPDATE: The reason I can't get anything off of CNN is because they're doing their "happy talk" American Morning thing, telling in-jokes to each other, and pretending to laugh. And the reason I can't anything off of CNNHN is because they're doing 3 minute pieces on American Idol and 5 minute pieces on something that's going on with brides and running.
