BBC Headlines London Spending Protests With Fluttering Palestinian Flag

I’ll do longer pieces about the labor and social dynamics of today’s temper tantrum for Contentions, but in the meantime – isn’t this adorable? The protest was a union-led pushback to government spending cuts, and this is the image that the BBC found most iconic:

It’s unclear whether we’re supposed to conclude that the government legislation is a Zionist plot, or whether the point is that “liberating Palestine” would restore the UK’s fiscal solvency. But for some reason the Palestinian cause figured centrally.

The Palestinian banner seems to make an appearance every time self-styled freedom fighters decide to trash London in the name of some greater cause, almost as if there’s an overlap between the pro-Palestinian British community and self-righteous thugs who resort to violence to advance their agenda.
