We’re a little over half an hour away from this evening’s TOCS, courtesy of One Jerusalem Radio. Today’s topic – after we get past the more robust than usual This Week In Iranian Warmongering segment – revolves around the proximity talks that the Obama administration has kindly arranged for the Israelis and Palestinians. I really can’t say enough good things about this literally Chamberlain-esque tactic for getting anti-Jewish bigots to deign to accept concessions, but hopefully the time we’ve got together today will serve as a start.

Tune in live at 6:30pm either by going to the main show page or by visiting the page for tonight’s episode. The chatroom and switchboard will of course both be open. Official blurb:

Omri discusses the array of issues surrounding the near-term renewal of proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. From the White House’s new strategy of bracketing difficult issues until sufficient momentum for Israeli concessions has been generated, to the incentives that the administration has created for the Palestinians to undermine progress, President Obama has created an almost perfect diplomatic storm for the Jewish State. Omri will discuss the negotiating strategies of each party, the overarching impossibility of peace in the face of Palestinian incitement, and how Israel is being set up to take the blame for peace talks that everyone except Israel seems determined to detonate. Omri is joined by Palestinian Media Watch founder and director Itamar Marcus, who unpacks the history of Palestinian incitement, explains the role it will play in the aftermath of proximity talks, and outlines what will have to happen for real peace to be achieved.

The interview with Marcus spans a bunch of topics – diplomacy, political Islam, peace process negotiations, etc – but the overarching point is that the Palestinian Authority has not done what it takes to lay the groundwork for peace. If “peace” was the same thing as “brainwashing two generations of children to believe that Allah wants them to murder Jews,” then the PA would be on firmer ground relative to their Oslo I and II obligations. But since they’re not, we’re in a situation where the Western aid that was supposed to contribute to a Palestinian civil society has actually been siphoned off to create frothing, resentful lunatics. Who knew?

In between there will be segments on Palestinian, Israeli, and American considerations, including a bit about how liberal Jews are pathetically cheap dates. Media outlets are treating Obama’s renewed wooing of American Jewry – a demographic that hysterically begged for a fig leaf that would allow them to return to the Democratic fold – as some kind of charm-tastic accomplishment. And yet that same purported charm has been unable to thaw the hearts of Arab and Muslim despots. Strange, that.
