Second Night Of Swedish Rioting By Youths Of Unknown Religious Persuasion

Unknown

That’s probably because the rioters are kids from multiple denominations who’re pissed off about a religiously neutral issue. Like a closed mosque:

Dozens of youths have rioted in the southern Swedish city of Malmo for a second consecutive night, setting cars on fire and clashing with police. “We’ve had a very difficult evening,” a police spokeswoman told the AFP news agency late on Thursday. “There have been fires burning since this afternoon… extensive damage to public property, and… stone-throwing and bomb threats against police.” She said the trouble was linked to the closure of an Islamic centre. The owner of the building, in an immigrant neighbourhood, had decided not to renew the centre’s lease. The centre, which included a mosque, had to move out. But some youths squatted in the premises, until they were evicted by police earlier this week.

The headline: “Swedish city hit by youth riots.” That’s all this is. Like the “youth riots” they had in Greece over the student who got shot. It’s what all the kids are doing these days.

Although I didn’t notice any Christian kids rioting after a Pakistani mob attacked a church, burned Bibles, and screamed at congregants to convert to Islam. Or after thousands of Egyptians attacked a church a month after 20,000 Egyptians attacked a different church. Strange, that.

All things considered, multiculturalism is working out great in Sweden:

A new programme launched on Monday by Sveriges Television (SVT) featuring three young Swedish Muslim women has sparked a heated debate about cultural norms and integration. Controversy about Halal-TV erupted even before the first episode aired on Monday night when author and commentator Dilsa Demirbag-Sten… pointed out that one of the show’s hosts had previously said she thought that stoning a woman to death was an appropriate punishment for adultery… SvD described Halal-TV as a “road trip” through Swedish society, with the three lead figures at the wheel which ultimately is meant to help deconstruct the often monolithic view of Muslims held by many Swedes.

Fair enough. Because if anything’s going to deconstruct monolithic views of Muslims it’s going to be 20-something Muslim women advocating the killing of adulterers.
