The European Parliament has been busy. In the same week they found time both to promote political Islam by undermining international anti-Iran efforts…
The European Parliament has asked France to make sure an Iranian opposition group in exile is taken off the EU’s terrorist list in line with a recent court ruling… a senior assembly official told French President Nicolas Sarkozy that keeping the People’s Mujahedeen of Iran on the list was illegal, unfair and counterproductive. France now holds the EU presidency. European Parliament Vice president Alejo Vidal-Quadras cited a December 4 ruling by the European Court of Justice that EU governments have not provided sufficient proof to blacklist the group.
… and to ban Fitna for trying to raise awareness about the dangers of political Islam:
Radical Islam won a major ruling this week. The European Union banned the screening of the movie Fitna on its premises. Radio Netherlands reported: The European Parliament has banned the screening on its premises of the anti-Islam movie Fitna. The maker of the film, Dutch right-wing MP and Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders, reacted angrily, saying it was a sad day for democracy.
They’ve also recently carved out time for supporting the anti-Semitic Durban II conference and renewing ties with Syria and pressuring Israel to make sweeping concessions. It’s really a pity. If they took the energy they’re using for appeasement and channeled it into something like “having productive jobs” the Eurozone might not be at its lowest point in a decade.
