Palestinians launch rockets at Israeli schools and hospitals from Gaza…
Three Qassam rockets were fired at the western Negev on Saturday. The rockets landed in open fields and no injuries or damages were reported. The rockets are believed to have been fired from the northern Negev, in the area where the Jewish settlement of Dugit was once located. On Friday, Palestinian militants fired two mortar shells at an Israel Defenses Forces patrol near the Kissufim crossing between Israel and Gaza. There were no injuries in the attack, which was claimed by the Popular Resistance Committeees.
… Israel delivers humanitarian aid to Gaza:
Israel partially its border crossings with the Gaza Strip on Monday to allow the transfer of humanitarian aid, following a reduction in rocket attacks from the strip over the past few days. The border crossings have been all but completely shut for 19 days amid a deteriorating five-month-old truce, with only one convoy of 33 trucks with essential humanitarian supplies entering the strip one week ago. The move came a day after Hamas was quoted by the Palestinian news agency Ma’an as saying militants groups had reached a deal with Israel to resume the cease-fire if the crossings were opened.
By “all but completely shut” they mean “continuously open to so much food, medicine, and energy that even the Palestinians admit there’s no real crisis.” Though I’m glad to hear that they’re going back to a “shaky ceasefire” – the last one was pretty magical. Plus it sounds so much better than the “unraveling ceasefire” that media outlets kept forgetting to mention had everything to do with a preemptive strike against an impending Hamas attack.
