I mentioned this girl last week in the context of a broader post about sharia courts, but the sheer savagery of this disgusting spectacle warrants its own post:
Dozens of men reportedly pelted the 13-year-old Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow with rocks in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in Kismayo. Amnesty International said the Islamic militia in charge of the city had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her. Initial reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty that she was just 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later admitted they had judged her to be 23 based upon her physical appearance.
Those “dozens” of men were actually more than “fifty” men, all of whom got together in a stadium filled with thousands of people so they could bludgeon to death a 13 year old rape victim. Which is slightly different than AQ’s usual tactic of forcing rape victims to become suicide bombers, but nonetheless still has kind of an unseemly air to it.
At times like this, I think it’s important to remember what the American Islamic Forum for Democracy tells us: honor killings are an artifact of Pakistani culture and have nothing to do with Islam. Sure it might seem like Islamic law goes out of its way to excuse husbands and fathers who murder their wives and children – to say nothing of merely violently enslaving them. But multiculturalists would never mislead us by implying that that Somalia stadium was filled with anything by Pakistanis so that has to be wrong.
