Deputy Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEO), Ahmad Fayaz-Bakhsh said Tuesday that Iranian experts have been more actively engaged in the start-up process of the Bushehr nuclear plant over the past 18 months. In the past decade, Russia has helped Iran build its first nuclear power plant, capable of annually generating some 1,000 megawatts of electricity, in the nation’s southern city of Bushehr.
Israeli sources say they’re halfway to a nuke and and US experts add that they’re two years away from completing 60 of them. So naturally the West is responding with a new round of proposed sanctions and a new set of proposed talks.
Unlike the previous rounds of sanctions, these ones are supposed to be different because they’re US-EU sanctions that circumvent the UN. Unlike the previous rounds of talks, these ones are supposed to be different because they’re French-led and wider in scope. Like previous rounds of sanctions, these ones will fail because Iran will use Dubai companies to circumvent them. Like previous rounds of talks, these ones will fail because Iran says it’s not interested.
At least the genocidal Islamic Republic isn’t about to get a Security Council seat.
