Update describing the murder of Fatah commander Jamal Abu Jadian buried at the bottom, with content warning for graphic – and frankly stomach-turning – violence.

Original: Umm…

* 2 UN workers, 14 Palestinians total die as Hamas seeks Gaza conquest – Think there will be the same global outcry as when Israel accidentally hit a UN compound that Hezbollah was launching rockets from? We don’t. Hamas is now militarily in control of most of the Gaza Strip, with the death toll around 50. Check this out:

One civilian was killed when some 1,000 Palestinians marched through Gaza City chanting “stop the killing” – only to draw gunfire from Hamas militants at a nearby police station seized from Fatah a day earlier.

That’s one way to stop protesters. Not the Western-approved way, but we’re not sure they’re interested in that way.

* Despite giving Fatah forces a 2 day ultimatum to turn over their weapons, Hamas is systematically sweeping through the Gaza Strip, rooting out and eliminating final pockets of Fatah resistance.

* Some choice selections from the Ha’aretz ticker:

15:33 – Hamas blows up Preventative Security HQ in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza (Haaretz)
15:28 – Hamas, Fatah gunmen exchange fire in West Bank city of Nablus (AP)
14:36 – Hamas threatens to invade Abbas` compound in Gaza City (AP)
14:33 – Four Fatah men from National Security Forces killed in Gaza fighting (Haaretz)

* In Nablus (that would be in the West Bank, where fighting is not supposed to spread to), Fatah is on the offensive and attacking Hamas institutions and officials.

* Mass murder:

Hamas militants blew up a tunnel under a security headquarters in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday killing 13 members of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s preventive security service, an aide to Abbas told Reuters.

We have a takeaway about how you shouldn’t excuse years and years of terroristic tactics just because they’re targeted (during that time) against Jews – lest they eventually be turned against non-Jews – but eh.

Update (06:15 PST): Seriously, who does this?

Jamal Abu Jadian, a top Fatah commander, fled his home in the northern Gaza Strip Tuesday evening dressed as a woman to avoid dozens of Hamas militiamen who had attacked it… But when Abu Jadian arrived at a hospital a few hundred meters away from his house, he was discovered by a group of Hamas gunmen, who took turns shooting him in the head with automatic rifles. “They literally blew his head off with more than 40 bullets,” said a doctor at Kamal Udwan Hospital.

Loathsome. Utterly loathsome.
