This Summer’s War With Syria – Syria Openly Brags About Preparing For War

And wouldn’t you know it, it’s the Jews’ fault:

A member of the Syrian parliament, Muhammad Habash, confirmed on Tuesday that his country was actively preparing for war with Israel, expected to break out in the summer, Israel Radio reported. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Habash said it was no secret that the Syrian military was arming itself for the upcoming confrontation with the IDF. He also claimed that the Israeli government was the one that wanted the war so that it could survive politically.

This is beginning to look eerily familiar. On the even of the 1967 war, Prime Minister Eshkol gave a speech in which he said that Israel would not be an aggressor and that “peace lay in Damascus”. Arab leaders hysterically pointed to this statement as proof that Israel was preparing to invade Damascus – because that’s obviously what Eshkol was trying to say. It’s almost like they’ll take any excuse to try to wipe out Israel. And don’t let anybody tell you otherwise: they were out to commit mass genocide and destroy Israel:

Those who call the Six Day War a disaster or a Pyrrhic victory are grossly mistaken, because they overlook the fact that Israel wasn’t destroyed, historian Michael Oren told The Jerusalem Post on Monday. In an interview on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the outbreak of war on June 5, 1967, Oren said his research of documents in Arab countries had revealed clearly that the Arabs had planned to destroy Israel. Although this seems obvious to Israel sympathizers who hold to the traditional story of the Arabs’ responsibility for the outbreak of war, the intervening decades have seen the promulgation of a myth that Israel was not really in danger.

Every time Israel manages to extract itself from the noose, the existence of that noose is retroactively denied to denigrate Israel and to save that elusive but all important Arab pride. Then Israel’s enemies get busy openly preparing a new noose and declaring their intentions all over again – secure in the knowledge that the UN save them if they lose, and that history will cover up their crimes.
