Naughty, Naughty – Three Palestinian Government Soldiers Captured Trying To Attack IDF

Not new, just newly declassified. It’s important to note though, because it gives lie to the emerging “Hamas is responding to what the IDF did in May” theme that anti-Israel activists, diplomats, and reporters have recently taken to trial ballooning:

The Shin Bet recently arrested three Hamas militants from the Hebron area who placed two explosive devices and planned to carry out additional attacks, according to information made public yesterday. The militants are suspected of placing the devices in April to kill IDF troops in Halhul, north of Hebron. Following their arrest, dozens of kilograms of explosives a were found in their possession. Meanwhile, an IAF strike on Qassam rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday injured at least two people, local residents said. An IDF spokeswoman said that an air strike was carried out, but no one was in the area.

We’re in no position to give the IDF advice about anything, except maybe things like “if you’re being given strategic suggestions by an ex-union thug who unfortunately landed the Defense portfolio because idiot Israeli students decided to lodge anti-establishment protest votes, consider a second opinion”. But it seems to us that these strikes would be significantly more successful if they were carried out when the Qassam rocket makers were in the Qassam rocket making factories.
