Iran Is Really, Really Bad At Fake Letters – Iranian Jewish Support Edition

The Islamic Republic News Agency has published a letter of support that’s supposed to be from The Association of Iranian Jews. And yet something here seems subtly awry:

In obedience to the instructions of Jesus, in the new Iranian year, which has been declared year of national unity and Islamic solidarity, Iranian Jews voice their readiness to defend all national interests of Iranians and to observe the guidelines set by Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) for the sake of strengthening national unity and solidarity in the fight against present-day pharaohs

How sad is it that this letter of Jewish support in the name of Jesus is still more credible than all of the “admissions of guilt” that Iran forced the British sailors to sign their names to? (via Language Log)

UPDATE: Meryl had this six days ago. Figures.
