By the way – “democracy demands dissent” is in close competition with “it’s fundamentalism in general that’s the problem” for single dumbest catchphrase in public circulation. Not that it’s inherently wrong – a democracy without any dissent is a suspicious thing indeed. Just that the conclusion – that dissent is as patriotic as backing the Commander in Chief in a time of war – is so incoherent as to flirt with being self-refuting.
Also, she misquoted Ben Franklin. Of course she did The woman is not just aggressively stupid – she also adds the oh so special quality of being self-righteous.
