Debate On Saudi Peace Plan II – Iran Won’t Even Accept Slow Extermination of Israel

Really? This is what we’re arguing about now?

Saudi Arabia’s official news agency reported early Sunday that the Iranian president had expressed support for a 2002 Arab peace initiative during talks with Saudi officials . Ahmadinejad’s office denied the report. Under the peace plan, adopted in 2002 at the Arab summit in Beirut, Arab countries would normalize relations with Israel in exchange for its withdrawal from Arab lands captured in the 1967 war.

This is YNet passing on the AP report. How can you tell that it’s an AP report? More or less because it lies. The Saudi Initiative doesn’t just require that Israel withdraw to the 1967 boundaries – it requires that Israel withdraw to the 1967 boundaries AND that Israel allow three to five million Palestinian “refugees” to stream across the border into the rest of Israel. We put refugees in quotes not because we’re being snarky, but because calling fifth generation children refugees requires quotes. Because, you see, they’re not. What they are – however – are some of the most viciously anti-Semitic populations on the planet.

Anyway, yeah – the upshot of this is that the Saudis couldn’t even get Iran to pay lip service to a peace plan that Israel can never, ever, ever accept. Because if Israel accepted it, Israel would be destroyed. Sorry for the pedantic tone – but sometimes we really just don’t know how to be snarky about these things.
